  1. Nice, a musician and an artist. Does the art require the same amount of practice as guitar?

    At fifty-five, I’m still drawing stick-figures, but there’s always hope…my grandkids love the single-line fish I draw…easy crowd.

    • It’s never too late! I used to doodle as a kid but a couple of years ago I started sketching more seriously and realized that I really enjoy it. This is only my 4th one, but I plan to do it more regularly from now on. It’s hard for me to compare guitar and drawing in terms of practice, because I enjoy them so much that it doesn’t feel like practice. If I had to guess I’d say the same amount of practice yields the same amount of results, whatever that means… but I think for most people it depends on which one comes to them more easily.

      • That makes sense. I restarted learning guitar just a bit over a year ago following a couple of severe strokes. I couldn’t control my left-arm and hand, and my memory was shot.

I started posting videos of the bits I could muster starting last January, so I could track my progress, and to give a bit of help with the lick/solo/song demo and tab for beginners and intermediate guitar players.

Other than family/children and grandchildren, there is nothing more gratifying than practicing/playing guitar, at least for me.

How did you get your start playing guitar?

    • 🙂 I heard a lot of people considering that movie a flop… but I found it to be absolutely brilliant. I am waiting for it to come out on DVD so I can fully grasp the stuff I missed.
