While having a dinner break, I was just listening to another song from that same era, “Six Months In A Leaky Boat”, which I’d looked up on Youtube as it had popped into my head.
Then I went into my reader and this video for “Whip It” was the first thing on my list.
Both those songs were popular when I was in junior high.
I’m glad you appreciate this. I think it’s fun and important to remember the music that got us to where we are. And music videos help us make an archive, of sorts… 🙂
I saw them in ’81 and got my skinny, little 5’3″ self stuck in a “squash” pit, not nearly as bad as a mosh pit, but I was feeling it. A big, kindly young man carried me out to safety where I could breathe and dance again. What a fun band! Thanks for the flashback post.
You’re very welcome, and at 5’3” I commend your bravery… I’ve seen squash pits get downright scary! I remember my first mosh pits. Good times… Nowadays I’d much rather just dance. haha
